Dreamforce 2017 was great!

Filed under: Uncategorized — David Allen @ 8:37 am

I attended my first Dreamforce conference today. This annual Salesforce conference is impressive. The diversity of training was incredible. My favorite spots were a visit to the Community Cloud Station, where Phil Weinmeister  gave me many wonderful insights, and the Trailhead area where I got to do hands-on learning in a number of areas including IoT. I got great ideas on how to use make compelling presentations, from Dan Roam, author of The Back of the Napkin.  His advice is based on research about how human vision is tied to our brains.

Key takeaways:

  • Salesforce has a broad product line to power many businesses
  • Salesforce has a rich ecosystem to fill in the gaps in its product line
  • Salesforce as a company has a great set of values: giving back to the community, and welcoming people of all types

I’m looking forward to applying lessons learned. This trip was well worth the effort.
